Whether you’re a local or a foreigner who’s up for some rest and relaxation, then chances are: you won’t be disappointed. With about 7,000 tropical islands, it is safe to say that finding a vacation hotspot that can meet your personality, preference, and budget, among others, is easy. If you’re contemplating of signing up for a Philippines travel package, then you need to come up with a plan that includes a shortlist of destinations that you can include in your trip. This, to ensure that your getaway is as fun and exciting as advertised. If you need help with this matter, then you came to the right place because the tourist hotspots that we’re going to tackle in this write-up are some of the best in the country.
 Boracay Island

Boracay Island is and will always be a favorite vacation getaway spot for international and local tourists alike. Why not? It boasts of white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, good food, party atmosphere, and the likes. There are tons of activities that you can enjoy while there and the long list includes snorkeling, diving, island hoping, parasailing, fire dancing, and others. Be warned, however, that it can be a bit crowded during the summer months so you should also consider visiting on off-peak months.

·        Palawan

Palawan became well known due to its picturesque scenery and superb natural wonders. Two of the most notable tourist hotspots there are Coron and El Nido.

Coron boasts of dive sites that are made up of underwater caves and coral reefs. Other notable attractions include the Seven Mountain Lakes that are known for its majestic limestone cliffs that are said to have formed during the Jurassic ages; the Kayangan Lake, which is heralded as the cleanest lake in the Philippines; and the Barracuda Lake, a body of water that known for its sunken World War II Japanese ships.

El Nido gained notoriety for its awe-inspiring rock formations and limestone cliffs—that according to studies—date 250 million years ago. It is also rich in biodiversity with thousands of water creatures like fish (and other marine animals), birds, and corals living there.

·        Bantayan Island, Cebu

Bantayan Island recently hit the tourist radar and it is safe to say that it will soon be a top Philippine destination. Considered as a virgin island, there are very few resorts that can be found there and it is the place to be if you’re up for some serenity and tranquility.

·        Calaguas Islands

The Calaguas Islands in the Bicol region (also the home of the Caramoan group of islands) is another tourist destination that is slowly hitting the tourist scene. They are known for their captivating powdery, white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, clean surroundings, and seclusion from the city life. As of now, there are no resorts there and for this reason, camping is your lone option. To add, electricity is scarce so make sure to bring your flashlights and portable gadget charger. Putting all these into consideration, it is the place to be if you want a one of a kind vacation that can take you away from your usual routine and simply make you feel relaxed.

·        Vigan

Vigan is the place to be if you’re up for some fine architectural wonders because of the prevalence of heritage sites. While there, prepare to be overwhelmed with Spanish-style establishments that are made of brick walls, cobblestones, capiz shell windows, and so on. To make the most of the heritage sites, you can opt for a calesa (horse carriage) tour that charges competitive rates.

·        Sagada, Mountain Province

Sagada in the Mountain Province is just what the doctor ordered if you want to enjoy cool temperatures during the summer months, but you don’t want to head over to the beach. It is also rich in rock formations and its hanging coffins attract tourists. While there make sure to include the Echo Valley, a centuries-old burial site in your travel plan.

·        Batanes

Batanes, a UNESCO Heritage Site Nominee, is a hardly-visited tourist destination in the Philippines because it is a small island that is located in the northernmost tip of the country and is constantly bombarded by rain. Despite these, you can be rest assured that you can have a grand time while there. You can visit the rolling hills, Spanish-style structures, fine beaches, and tranquil fishing villages. If you decide to vacation or tour Batanes, it is best to book your flight from March to May or the country’s dry season.
