Have you experienced wandering to a place you frequented so much yet you thought so dull and boring but never realized how amazing it was until somebody showed you its hidden splendor? I just had one. The most frequented place – the CITY OF TAGUM!
The City of Tagum, tagged as the Palm Tree Capital of the Philippines, is the Provincial Capital of the Province of Davao Del Norte.
I have been to the City of Tagum countless of times. It is one of the Bus Stop Towns when traveling from hometown Cateel, Davao Oriental to the sprawling City of Davao. But even if I've been there for hundred times, I never had the chance to roam around then called Municipality of Tagum. Even the time that I became a Davao resident where Tagum is just an hour away, I never had the chance to explore the City. Honestly, I was thinking, Tagum City will forever be a Bus Stop Station from my hometown Cateel to Davao City. This has been my thought about Tagum City not until I was invited to participate the very 1st Tagum City Photo Safari.
Led by Tagum City Information Office and the City Tourism Council, the 1st Tagum City Photo Safari participated by invited photographers from Davao City including the Davao Bloggers aims to document the important landmarks and points of interests of the City of Tagum. Photographs captured creatively during this event will be used by the City of Tagum for brochures and other city tourism promotional materials in the forthcoming 10th Musikahan Festival and 3rd International Rondalla Festival 2011 slated on January 15-16, 2011.
During the Photo Caravan, we were brought to the different city landmarks and important attractions of the City. I was amused to find out that there are many beautiful places that Tagum City has hidden from the travel enthusiast like me. It was so amazing that discover that Tagum City is not just a bus stop destination during travel time but can also be a destination for fun, excitement and adventure.
BELOW ARE JUST THE MANY MUST SEE SIGHTS OF TAGUM.

All of us had a great time during the Photo Caravan. It was not just an invitation for us to take pictures of the City but also an opportune time to see what Tagum City can offer to its visitors and guests like us.
I personally was amazed how the City of Tagum transformed from a struggling Capital Town into a very competitive City today. All the key landmarks I visited and photographed showed attestation that the City truly developed up into a new viable destination for business and leisure. The continuing construction of various private and public infrastructures and the emerging business development in the City only defines the readiness of the City of Tagum to become a key urban destination in Mindanao Region.
The First Tagum City Photo Caravan is a worthy opportunity to see the hidden treasures that Tagum City takes pride of. Through this Photo Caravan, it enabled us to see the beauty of the city and made us appreciate the many exhilarating things that the city has in stored not just to its constituents but to its visitors and tourists as well.
At night, City Mayor Rey Uy welcomed us by graciously giving them a remarkable tour at the City’s renowned Night Market. The Mayor himself showed and explained how the Night Market started that has now become one of Tagum’s significant economic trademarks.
